Signs and Symbols
The signs and symbols activity will show students how to be discerning believers by reflecting on symbols and what they come to mean in our faith and in our societies. Signs will differ according to cultures and to individual believers.
There are several types of signs and symbols.
Similarly, the church uses many sacramental (crucifix, rosary, stations of the cross) objects to convey the divinity of the Lord. Each sacrament symbolizes a different meaning and a different purpose within the Catholic faith. Thus based on Bronek Korczynski’s podcast, the sacraments convey the “core truth”, “the whole truth” that God wants to “convey” to us. Keeping that in ideology in mind, my symbols mean specific things to just to me meanwhile it will mean different things to other people.
