Rubrics are multidimensional sets of scoring guidelines that can be used to provide consistency in evaluating student work. They spell out scoring criteria so that multiple teachers, using the same rubric for a student's essay, for example, would arrive at the same score or grade. Rubrics provide a measurement system for specific tasks and are tailored to each project.
In my opinion, rubrics should mimic a “checklist” of information that students are required to submit. This checklist should be co-constructed by the students explaining the required success criteria. Rubrics marking scheme is the best professional way in assessing student work:
I personally used the rubrics as a summary tool for my learning. The rubrics grouped my understandings and my level of expertise within the Religion ABQ course.
